ABBEY HENSLEY NAMED STAR STUDENT FOR PEPPERELL HIGH

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in News & Weather

Abbey Hensley has been named Pepperell High School’s STAR student.  The honor was bestowed upon Hensley during an assembly at the high school on Thursday morning, according to a Floyd County Schools media release.

Hensley has selected Linda Casey, her Honors literature teacher, as PHS’s STAR teacher.

To be named a STAR student, a high school senior must have the highest SAT score in the school on one test date through November prior to his or her graduation.  The student’s SAT scores must be equal to or higher than the national average, and the student must be in the top 10 percent of his or her senior class based on grade point average.

The STAR program is sponsored locally by the Rome-Floyd Chamber and statewide by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (or PAGE).
