The American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia recently added an important new staff member. Larry Brooks, a Walker County native, has assumed the post of Executive Director, reports Carla Maton, Disaster Program Manager for the local Red Cross. His first official day on the job was one week ago,
Monday, July 9th. He is the successor to Jeffrey Putnam, who resigned from the position in late December to pursue other job opportunities.
Maton says that along with the hire of Brooks as the Red Cross’ new leader, the group also recently added a new chairman of its Board of Directors, Add Layson.
Prior to joining the NWGA Red Cross, Brooks served as Executive Director of the Walker County Development Authority.
