A handful of local high school football teams are in the midst of preparation for the Georgia High School Association’s state playoffs, which are slated to begin this weekend.

Fans of the Coosa Eagles will want to tune into 95.7 FM The Ridge on Friday night for coverage from Langston Hughes High in Fairburn as the Eagles take on Hapeville Charter in the opening round of the Class AA playoffs.

WLAQ AM 1410 is your home for Darlington football.  The Tigers earned a spot in the Class A Private state playoffs, along with a bye this week.

Rome High School will shoot for a third straight state title starting on Friday night.  Pepperell rounds out the list of Rome-Floyd teams that made it to this year’s playoffs.  Rockmart, Chattooga, Trion and Cedartown are among teams from around the region that are postseason-bound.
