AS WINTER APPROACHES, PUT UP YOUR LAWN AND GARDENING TOOLS! EMPTY THE FUEL, TOO

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in Uncategorized

As we prepare to enter the season of winter, now is a good time to put away all those outdoor tools that you will not use during the colder months. Keith Mickler, UGA Extension agent for Floyd County, encourages locals to dump the fuel out of their equipment before putting it away.  This applies to things like weed eaters, blowers and the like.  Mickler adds that not emptying all the fuel from these items can cause (expensive) problems overtime.

Mickler also encourages lawn and garden enthusiasts to clean up their tools before putting them away for the winter.

And any time of year is a good time for a soil test.  For just $9, you can have a sample of your soil analyzed to determine its health for plant growth in the  spring.  Swing by the UGA Extension office, located inside the Floyd County Administration Building on East 4th Avenue,or call (706) 295-6210 for more information.
