The Atlanta Braves defeated the Miami Marlins 4-3 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a four game set at Marlins Park in Miami, allowing the Braves to take the series 3-1.

Sean Newcomb limited the Marlins to just one hit, walked four and struck out six over six scoreless innings en route to the win.

Offensive highlights for Atlanta included a two-run homer by Ender Inciarte off Jose Urena in the top of the sixth.

Justin Bour launched a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning, but the Marlins’ threat stopped there as Arodys Vizcaino managed to get the save for the Braves.

The Braves will be in Chicago today to make up a match versus the Cubs that had been postponed earlier in the season because of inclement weather.  First pitch is set for 2:20 pm at Wrigley Field. WLAQ AM 1410 will join coverage of the game in progress from the Braves Radio Network upon the conclusion of Rush Limbaugh at 3 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves beat the Hickory Crawdads 7-2 in a Mother’s Day outing at Hickory, NC on Sunday.  The teams will meet again this evening at 6 pm.
