The Atlanta Braves blanked the Seattle Mariners 4-0 on Tuesday night in the middle outing of a three-game set at SunTrust Park.

Lucas Sims picked up his second straight win for Atlanta after giving up just three hits over six scoreless innings, walking two and striking out four.

The Braves were led offensively by Nick Markakis with two RBIs, including a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth.

A couple of errors on the part of Seattle proved costly for the Mariners but beneficial for the Braves.

The Braves and the Mariners will meet in their series finale tonight.  The game is scheduled to get underway at 7:35 pm and will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time is 6:20 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves opened a six-game homestand with a 5-1 victory over the Lexington Legends at State Mutual Stadium on Tuesday night.  Game two of the three-game set between the Braves and the Legends is set for tonight at 7 pm.
