ATLANTA BRAVES IN CHICAGO TO FACE THE CUBS OVER THE WEEKEND

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in Sports

The Atlanta Braves had the day off on Thursday and will return to action this afternoon with the opener of a three-game series in Chicago against the Cubs.  Anibal Sanchez will serve as the starting pitcher for Atlanta, and Yu Darvish will head to the mound for Chicago.  First pitch is set for 2:20 pm at Wrigley Field.  We will join Braves Radio Network coverage of the game in progress upon the conclusion of Rush Limbaugh at 3 pm on WLAQ AM 1410.

This will mark the final series in the Braves’ first road trip of the season.  The nine-game road trip has also included outings in Colorado versus the Rockies and in Washington DC against the Nationals; it has resulted in three wins and three losses thus far for the Braves, who now possess a 7-5 record overall and are in second place of the National League East.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves were walloped by the Greenville Drive 14-4 on Thursday night in the opener of a three-game set at Greenville, South Carolina.  The teams will meet again tonight at 7:05 pm.
