The Atlanta Braves fell to the Miami Marlins 3-1 on Sunday in the finale of a three-game set at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida, denying the Braves a sweep of the Marlins over the weekend. Atlanta took the series by 2-1 with wins in the first two outings.
Tyler Moore was the hero of the day for Miami with a pinch-hit three run homer off RA Dickey in the bottom of the seventh inning that gave the Marlins a lead that they would maintain over the Braves through the rest of the ballgame.
Dickey was charged with three runs and five hits, walked three and struck out one over seven innings in the loss for Atlanta. Kyle Barraclough was credited with the win in relief for Miami; AJ Ramos got the save.
The Braves will be in Toronto to face the Blue Jays in the opener of a brief two-game interleague series at the Rogers Centre tonight at 7:07 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410. Air time is 5:50 pm.
In a minor league update, the Rome Braves were defeated by the Kannapolis Intimidators 2-1 in game two of a four game set at State Mutual Stadium on Mother’s Day. The teams will meet again this evening at 7 pm.
