The Atlanta Braves were off on Monday and will return to their home field at SunTrust Park tonight to open a brief two-game interleague series against the  Toronto Blue Jays.  Julio Teheran will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta, and Marcus Stroman will head to the mound for Toronto.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:35 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410; air time from the Braves Radio Network is 6:20 pm.

Atlanta is now tied with Philadelphia for the top spot in the National League East; each team has a record of 50 wins and 39 losses so far this season.  The Braves were on the road for 10 games prior to their off-day Monday; the trip left them with an even five wins and five losses.  Their series against Toronto will be followed by another off-day on Thursday, then a three game set versus the Arizona Diamondbacks at SunTrust Park over the weekend.  The Braves’ five game homestand will be followed by the MLB All-Star break.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves picked up a 6-5 victory over the Augusta Greenjackets in 10 innings on Monday night in the finale of a three game set at State Mutual Stadium, allowing the Braves to avoid being swept by the ‘Jackets.  Rome is off today.
