The Tellus: Northwest Georgia Science Museum in Cartersville will observe National Astronomy Day this Saturday, April 28th with a flurry of activities. Marketing Director Joe Schulman invites the public to come out for 12 hours full of astronomy. The event will be held from 10 am until 10 pm.
Larry Maxey has announced his intentions to run for the Floyd County Commission post 4 vacated by Eddie Lumsden. Maxey is the president of Lakes Construction Company. A special election will be held on July 31st to determine who will fill the post, which Lumsden left in March to run for State House District 11.
Cancer Navigators has announced the winning crews in their Cast Off Against Cancer fund-raising campaign. The campaign wrapped up this past Sunday with a celebration at the Harbin Clinic’s Tony E. Warren MD Cancer Center.
