The Atlanta Braves beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-2 on Wednesday night in the finale of a two-game interleague set at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL, allowing the Braves to sweep the series.

Highlights of the night included a three-run homer from Nick Markakis in the top of the third inning.

Julio Teheran picked up the win for Atlanta after giving up just four hits over six scoreless innings; he also struck out seven and did not walk a batter.  The save went to Arodys Vizcaino.

Tampa Bay scored a couple of runs off Peter Moylan in the bottom of the eighth, but their comeback was thwarted by the Braves, who won the game, again, by a final score of 5-2.

The National League East-leading Braves will remain in Florida to take on the Miami Marlins in the opener of a four game set tonight at 7:10 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time is 5:55 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves swept a double header with the Augusta Greenjackets on Wednesday evening, 6-3 and 7-3.  The teams will meet again tonight at 7:05 pm.
