The Atlanta Braves fell to the Washington Nationals 4-1 on Tuesday night in the middle outing of a three-game set at Washington DC, marking the second straight loss for the Braves.

Once again, the Nats were backed by stellar pitching; Stephen Strasburg gave up three hits, walked two and struck out eight over eight scoreless en route to the win.

Ryan Zimmerman led the charge offensively for Washington with a two-run triple in the top of the first.

Mike Foltynewicz took the loss for Atlanta after surrendering three runs and five hits, walking two and striking out three in five innings.

An RBI double from Dansby Swanson in the top of the ninth accounted for the Braves’ lone run of the night.

The Braves will conclude their series with the Nationals this afternoon; first pitch is set for 1:05 pm at Nationals Park.  The game will not be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410 as we will be airing the Rush Limbaugh show at that time.  Broadcast coverage will be provided on WLAQ this weekend, courtesy of the Braves Radio Network, as the Braves head to Chicago to face the Cubs.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves picked up a 2-1 victory over the Charleston Riverdogs on Tuesday at State Mutual Stadium in game two of a three-game set.  The series finale is scheduled for today at 1 pm.
