The Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals 8-3 on Wednesday night in game three of a four game set in Washington DC.

Three of the Braves homered in the win.  Rome native Charlie Culberson got it all started with a three-run bomb in the second inning.

Tyler Flowers added a two-run shot in the fourth.  It was bombs away in that same inning for Ronald Acuna Jr.; his two-run homer off Tommy Milone also drove Culberson to home plate.

Acuna made a stellar catch later in that inning to rob Matt Adams of a home run for the Nationals.

Mike Foltynewicz picked up the win for Atlanta after surrendering three runs (only one of them earned) and six hits, walking two and striking out seven in five and two-third innings of work.

Atlanta is now a half a game behind Philadelphia in the race for first place of the National League East as the Phillies lost to Arizona on Wednesday.

The Braves will conclude their series in DC against the Nationals today with a 1:05 pm outing.  It will not be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410 as we will be airing Rush Limbaugh during that time. WLAQ will rejoin coverage from the Braves Radio Network on Friday evening as the Braves open an eleven-game homestand with a match against the Milwaukee Brewers at SunTrust Park.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves blanked the Delmarva Shorebirds 1-0 on Wednesday night at State Mutual Stadium.  Those two teams will meet again tonight at 7 pm.
