The Atlanta Braves opened a nine-game homestand with an 8-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night at SunTrust Park, marking the Braves’ third straight win over the Blue Jays.

Atlanta jumped on the board early with six runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a three-run homer from Kurt Suzuki.

Mike Foltynewicz earned the win for the Braves after giving up three runs and six hits, walking one and striking one out in six innings pitched.

The victory was overshadowed by an injury to Freddie Freeman, who exited the game in the fifth after being hit on his left wrist by a pitch.  Tests were inconclusive; he will undergo further evaluation today.

The Braves will wrap up their series against the Blue Jays with a 7:35 pm match tonight that will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time for pre-game programming is 6:20 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves were off on Thursday night and will return to action tonight at State Mutual Stadium with game one of a four game set versus the Lexington Legends.  First pitch is set for 7 pm.
