The Atlanta Braves have been swept by the Philadelphia Phillies again.  The Braves dropped the finale of a brief two-game set at SunTrust Park 3-2 to the Phillies on Wednesday night, allowing the Phillies to sweep the series.

Odubel Herrera once again led the charge for Philadelphia with a couple of triples.  The second of those drove Freddy Galvis to homeplate while Herrera scored on a throwing error by Ozzie Albies to give the Phillies a two-run lead in the top of the third inning.

Galvis added an RBI double in the top of the fifth.  Danny Santana drove in a pair of runs for the Braves on a pinch-hit single in the seventh.

Jerad Eickhoff got the win for Philadelphia after giving up two runs and nine hits, walking none and striking out six over six and two-third innings.  Hector Neris was credited with the save.

Sean Newcomb took the loss for Atlanta; he surrendered three runs and five hits, walked one and struck out six in six innings pitched.

The Braves are now 2-11 against the Phillies this season.  Atlanta will have the night off tonight after completing an eight game homestand that left the team with three wins and five losses.  Up next – a match in St. Louis against the Cardinals on Friday night.  First pitch is set for 8:15 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time is 7 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves fell to the Augusta Greenjackets by a final score 4-1 on Wednesday night in the finale of a three-game set at Augusta, allowing the Greenjackets to take the series 2-1.  The Braves will be in Greenville, SC tonight to take on the Drive at 7:05 pm.
