The Atlanta Braves beat the Toronto Blue Jays 9-5 on Tuesday in the finale of a brief two-game interleague set at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada, allowing the Braves to sweep the series.  Atlanta has now won four of their last five games.

Dansby Swanson delivered the biggest hit of the day with a tie-breaking solo home-run in the bottom of the top of the seventh.

Freddie Freeman also had a two-run bomb in the fifth, his National League-leading 14th homer of the season.  Matt Kemp added two hits and four RBIs towards the Braves’ victory over the Blue Jays.

Jose Ramirez was credited with the win in relief for Atlanta, while reliever Danny Barnes took the loss for Toronto.

Thus ends a seven game road trip that left Atlanta with four wins and three losses.  They’ll welcome the Blue Jays to SunTrust Park tonight for the first of two interleague outings to open a nine-game homestand at the new “Home of the Braves”.  First pitch is set for 7:35 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time is 6:20 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves were defeated by the Kannapolis Intimidators 5-1 in the finale of a four game set at State Mutual Stadium on Thursday, allowing the Intimidators to take the series 3-1.  Rome is off this evening; they’ll return to action on Thursday night with the opener of a four game set against the Lexington Legends, also at SMS.
