Students from Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Cosmetology program on the Floyd County campus hosted a special Valentine’s Spa Day this past Monday for women from the Floyd Training Center and Highland Rivers Outreach that volunteer regularly for Angel Express, Inc., according to a GNTC media release.
Heavy rainfall over the Greater Rome area in recent days has led to concern over the potential for flooding. And additional rainfall is in the forecast for the rest of the week.

The Rome City Schools Board of Education will hold their February meeting this evening on the campus of Rome High School. The caucus and executive session will be held in the school’s front conference room at 5 pm. That will be followed by the Board’s regular meeting in the Rome High auditorium; it will begin at 5:45 pm. Both are open to the public.
Energy prices took a nosedive on the stock market last week and gas prices are declining as a result, reports AAA, The Auto Club Group. Georgia’s gas prices declined three cents during the past week. Sunday’s state average of $2.46 is six cents higher than a month ago and 28 cents more than this time last year.
