The Model High School girls basketball team has made it to the Elite Eight round of the GHSA state tournament! The Lady Blue Devils will face Putnam County in the Class AA quarterfinals tonight in Milledgeville. Coverage of the game will be provided on 95.7 FM The Ridge. Matt Davis and Phil Carter will bring you the play-by-play story. Air time is 6 pm with tip off set for 6:30 pm at Georgia College and State University. High school basketball postseason action will take to the airwaves of 95.7 FM The Ridge tonight as the Model Lady Blue Devils host Dublin in round two of the GHSA state playoffs. The Class AA match is slated to get underway at 6 pm.
In your high school basketball postseason update, the Model Blue Devils’ season came to an end on Wednesday night with a heartbreaking loss to Holy Innocents, 54-51, at home in the opening round of the Class AA state playoffs. Holy Innocents’ Cole Smith hit a 3-pointer as time expired to lift his team to victory. This was just moments after Model’s Dwight Hall shot a 3-pointer of his own to tie the game. The Blue Devils finish the season with 17 wins and nine losses and the Region 7-AA title under their belts.
