ATLANTA BRAVES TO OPEN SECOND HALF OF 2017 SEASON VERSUS ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS TONIGHT AT SUNTRUST PARK

The Atlanta Braves will open the second half of the 2017 season this evening versus the Arizona Diamondbacks in the opener of a three-game weekend set at SunTrust Park.  This will mark the D’backs’ first visit to the Braves’ new ballpark.  RA Dickey will serve as the starting pitcher for Atlanta tonight, while Taijuan Walker will head to the mound for Arizona.  First pitch is slated for 7:35 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time is 6:20 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

CURTAIN ABOUT TO RISE ON SECOND HALF OF MLB SEASON

The curtain is about to rise on the second half of the 2017 season for the Atlanta Braves!  One more day remains in the MLB All Star break; the Braves will return to action on their home field at SunTrust Park on Friday night with the first of three games against the Arizona Diamondbacks.  The weekend series with the D’backs will open a six-game homestand that will also include three games against the defending World Series champion Chicago Cubs early next week.

ROME BRAVES DROP HOMESTAND FINALE TO WEST VIRGINIA

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves fell to the West Virginia Power 11-3 on Monday in the finale of a four-game set at State Mutual Stadium, leading to a 2-2 split in the series.  Thus ends a rain-shortened six-game homestand that left Rome with an even three wins and three losses.  The Braves are off tonight and will begin a six-game road trip on Wednesday night with a match against the Lakewood BlueClaws in New Jersey.
