SHORTER/BERRY RIVALRY REVIVED TONIGHT!

It will be a big night for local college basketball tonight as the crosstown rivalry between Berry College and Shorter University is revived at the annual Seven Hills Rotary Classic.  The Classic will be played this year at Shorter University’s Winthrop King Centre.  The Lady Hawks and Lady Vikings will go head to head at 6 pm.  The Hawks, who are as yet undefeated and hold the top spot in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll, will face the Vikings at 8 pm.  The games will be broadcast on both WLAQ AM 1410 and 95.7 FM The Ridge and online at www.wlaq1410.com and www.theridge957.com.  

ATLANTA HAWKS LOSE ONE, WIN ONE OVER THE WEEKEND; PREPARE TO FACE MILWAUKEE BUCKS

In NBA news, after a disappointing loss to the Philadelphia 76ers 90-76 on the road on Friday night, the Atlanta Hawks came back to take a 121-94 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night on their home court at the Philips Arena.  Saturday night’s win improved the Hawks’ record to eight wins and one loss at home.  They have 12 wins and five losses overall for the 2011-2012 season.  They’ll be on the road to take on the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at 8 pm.
