Shorter University’s Hawks played their first home games of the season in baseball on Saturday against the University of Pikeville. The teams the double-header, with Pikeville winning game one 2-0 and Shorter taking the night cap 12-2 at the Robert H. Ledbetter Field on the Shorter University campus.
In your local college basketball update from over the weekend, Shorter University’s number one Hawks managed to maintain a perfect record in the Southern States Athletic Conference with a 89-64 win over Southern Wesleyan on Saturday, improving their record to 23-1 overall and 13-0 in the SSAC. That was preceded by a 74-43 victory for Shorter’s Lady Hawks over Southern Wesleyan in Central, South Carolina. Shorter’s men’s and women’s basketball teams return to their home court at the Winthrop King Centre on the Shorter University campus to host Emmanuel this Thursday night. Tip off is set for 6 pm for the women and 8 pm for the men. That will be followed by a 2 pm home game on Saturday for the Lady Hawks against Brenau.
