The Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home has scheduled their annual Low Country Boil and Barbeque event for the evening of Friday, August 3rd at the Rome Civic Center.

Heather Shores, Executive Director of the museum, says that doors will open for the fundraiser at 7 pm.  Dinner will be served at 7:45 pm by Two Can Do Catering.  At a cost of $75 per person, attendees will be treated to an open bar and all-you-can-eat buffet of low country boil and barbeque.

Tables for eight are also available for $600; tables for ten are $750.  Portions of each ticket sale are tax-deductible.

A live auction will be held as part of the event.  Potted plant centerpieces will also be available for purchase.  New for 2018 – a cash raffle.  Tickets may be purchased at the museum or at the event for a chance to win $500 cash.  The drawing for a winner will take place on the night of the event; participants do not have to be present to win.

Shores indicates that proceeds from the Low Country Boil and Barbeque will go towards Chieftains’ efforts to educate the community.  She adds that this is the museum’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

To purchase tickets or for more information, contact the museum by phone at (706) 291-9494 or visit their website at www.chieftainsmuseum.org.  Credit and debit cards will be accepted, along with checks and cash.

The Low Country Boil and Barbeque is sponsored annually by the Friends of the Chieftains Museum.
