Georgia Tech beat Notre Dame 60-53 in men’s college basketball in Atlanta on Wednesday night.  It marked the first Atlantic Coast Conference defeat of the season and the conclusion of a five-game winning streak for the Fighting Irish.  It was the third straight victory for the Yellow Jackets.

Josh Okogie led all players in scoring with 17 points for Georgia Tech.  Ben Lammers had 10 points and 10 rebounds to notch his sixth double-double of the season, the 22nd of his career.

The Jackets are now 9-7 overall and 2-1 in the ACC.  They’ll return to action this Saturday on the road against Pittsburgh.  Tip off is slated for 2 pm.  The game will be broadcast on 95.7 FM The Ridge.

In other college basketball news, Georgia Highlands split a pair of conference matches with South Georgia Tech at home on Wednesday evening.  The Lady Chargers were defeated in the opener 60-53 to fall to 9-10 overall and 5-3 in the GCAA.  The Chargers were victorious in the nightcap by a final score of 87-82; they improved to 8-6 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
