Faith Collins has been tapped to serve as the chairwoman of the Rome City Schools Board of Education for 2018. She was chosen to serve another year in that capacity during the board’s first meeting of the year on Tuesday night, according to this morning’s Rome News-Tribune, which additionally reports that newcomer Jill Fisher will serve as vice chairwoman.
This marks the first year on the board for Fisher as well as for Dr. Melissa Davis, Alvin Jackson and John Uldrick.
Jackson indicated during a recent interview on WLAQ radio that he was proud to be elected to the board in November and looks forward to being instrumental towards positive changes within the school system.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13th at the Rome City Schools Administrative Building at 508 East Second Street in Rome. It is slated to begin at 5:45 pm and is open to the public.
