The Coosa River Basin Initiative’s 17th annual Fish Fry is scheduled for this Saturday at First United Methodist Church in downtown Rome.

Attendees will enjoy a meal of US farm-raised catfish, hushpuppies, cheese grits, cole slaw and (of course) dessert.  The CRBI Catfish Kissin’ Contest is once again a part of this year’s festivities; winners (and losers) will all pucker up to kiss a live Coosa River catfish.  Live music has been added for 2018, as well as live and silent auctions.

Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman, CRBI Executive Director, states that the event hours are 11 am to 3 pm, but most of the action will take place between noon and 1:30 pm.

Tickets to the 17th annual Fish Fry are $10, with special $7 tickets available for ‘small fries’, and may be purchased at the CRBI office, 5 Broad Street, or online  You may also find a list of competitors in this year’s  Catfish Kissin’ Contest (and vote for your favorite) on the website.
