The curtain is about to rise on the second half of the 2017 season for the Atlanta Braves!  One more day remains in the MLB All Star break; the Braves will return to action on their home field at SunTrust Park on Friday night with the first of three games against the Arizona Diamondbacks.  The weekend series with the D’backs will open a six-game homestand that will also include three games against the defending World Series champion Chicago Cubs early next week.

Friday night’s first pitch is scheduled for 7:35 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time is 6:20 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

The Braves finished the first half of the 2017 season with 42 wins and 45 losses and in second place of the National League East, nine and a half games behind the division-leading Washington Nationals.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves opened a six-game road trip with a loss to the Lakewood BlueClaws 6-1 in New Jersey on Wednesday night.  The teams will meet again this evening at 7:05 pm.
