Guangji Liu (otherwise known as Peter) of Darlington School was among those named PAGE Star Student for Region One in 2018, according to a  release from PAGE (or the Professional Organization of Georgia Educators).  Liu has selected Jennifer Sikes to be his STAR teacher.

Other STAR students/teachers from the region include:  Christian Chase Welch/Tiffany Post of Woodland High School, Seung Min Albert Shin/Jason Fields from Bremen High School and Jacob King/Heidi Leonard of Paulding County High School.

To obtain the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date of the SAT and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average.

STAR is an acronym for Student Teacher Achievement Recognition.  The program is sponsored statewide by PAGE and has honored nearly 26,500 students (and the teachers they selected) since its inception by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce in 1958.
