DEMPSEY BELIEVES THAT DEAL WILL MAKE GUBERNATORIAL HISTORY IN GEORGIA

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in News & Weather

State Representative Katie Dempsey of Rome believes that Governor Nathan Deal will go down as one of the best governors in state history.

Just months remain in Deal’s second term of gubernatorial service.  Dempsey cites tax reductions and his move to fully restore Quality Basic Education (or QBE) funding as two of the reasons he will go down in the history books.

A runoff election is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24th to determine the GOP’s 2018 gubernatorial candidate between Casey Cagle and Brian Kemp.  Stacey Abrams was chosen by Democrats on May 22nd as their candidate for the next Governor of Georgia.

Dempsey is running for re-election to her 13th District post in the state House of Representatives in November’s general election.  The Republican will face Democratic challenger John Burnette II.
