FAMILY-FRIENDLY FUN AHEAD IN DOWNTOWN ROME OVER THE WEEKEND

Looking for family-friendly fun this weekend?  You will definitely find it in downtown Rome!

Ice skating continues at the Forum River Center through the holiday season.  It opened last weekend to rave reviews, according to marketing professional Thomas Kislat.

For many residents of Northwest Georgia, ice skating is a new and unfamiliar experience.  But locals are quick learners, attests Kislat, who adds that a well-trained crew will be on the ice to assist first-time skaters.

There is no admission to enter the arena, though there is a fee for skate rental of $10 for ages five and up and $3 for ages four and under.

All the details about ice skating at the downtown venue are available online at www.forumrivercenter.com.  Information about special events and updated rink hours are posted on the Forum River Center’s Facebook page.

The Town Green (located next to the Forum River Center) will be the site of free family activities this Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm as part of Downtown Holiday Open House.  Festivities will include trolley rides with Santa Claus.  The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Candy Cane Hunt is set for 1 pm.

Free parking is being offered during the holidays on levels two through four of the Third Avenue Parking Deck, starting today.
