Floyd County Schools Superintendent Dr. John Jackson has announced his plans to retire on June 30, 2018. He shared the news in a letter addressed to members of the county school board.
Dr. Jackson said in the letter, “The work in Floyd County Schools has been the capstone experience of my career. It has been a very fulfilling experience and one that I will treasure the rest of my life.”
The soon-to-retire superintendent additionally stated that he is committed to helping the school system make the transition to his successor as seamless and smooth as possible.
