The 2017 Floyd County SPLOST Committee will gather this evening at the Rome-Floyd County Fire Department Headquarters located at 409 East 12th Street. Committee members hope to finalize a list of projects to be included in a Special Purpose, Local Option Sales Tax to be put before voters this November. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
Rome City Manager Sammy Rich aims to educate the voting public about the benefits of the one-cent sales tax. He says that SPLOST dollars are applied towards capital resources and facilities.
This evening’s meeting is open to the public. For more information, call the Floyd County Clerk’s office at (706) 291-5110.
