Starting on Monday, Floyd Medical Center will lift visitation restrictions that have been in place to protect patients from catching the flu since January.
According to a release from the hospital, the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta has confirmed that the number of positive tests for the flu across the nation has decreased slowly but steadily in the past two weeks.
Sheila Bennett, Senior Vice President and Chief of Patient Services at Floyd, says, “The positive flu results have trended down in the past three weeks. Based on the downward trend, the visitor restrictions should be lifted as of March 12th.”
