Floyd County Tax Commissioner Kevin Payne was recently elected by the Georgia Association of Tax Officials to serve as the statewide organization’s President for 2017-2018.
Payne was elected to a two-year term at the association’s annual training conference held last week in Athens, according to a release from the tax commissioner’s office. In his new post, he will take on matters affecting all 159 county tax offices, including legislative issues that affect Georgia taxpayers that pay property taxes and register motor vehicles. As President, Payne will be the chief executive officer of the Georgia Association of Tax Officials; he will preside over all association business and serve as its representative in all related tax matters.
