Autumn 2018 is anticipated to be full of fun for the family at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport/Admiral John H. Towers Field in Rome.

Festivities will kick off with the Rome Balloon Festival, slated to take place on September 14th and 15th.  Gates will open at 1 pm with the event to start at 4 pm both days. Looney Tunes characters will be among the 20-plus balloons that will take to the skies, according to event organizer Jeremy Kwaterski.

Tickets are now on sale for the event, and more information may be obtained online at www.romeballoonfestival.com.

A few weeks after the Balloon Festival, Wings Over North Georgia will once again roar into Rome.  This year’s air show is scheduled for October 13th and 14th at the Russell Regional Airport; it will be headlined by the US Air Force F-22 Raptor and A-10 Thunderbolt II Demonstration Teams.

Tora! Tora! Tora!, a re-enactment of the infamous Pearl Harbor invasion of December 7, 1941, is also among the line-up for the 2018 air show.

John Cowman, President of JLC Airshow Management, says that now is the best time to purchase premium seating for the event.  Ticket options are listed online at www.wingsovernorthgeorgia.com.

Locals can follow Wings Over North Georgia and the Rome Balloon Festival on social media for updates on each event.
