GEORGIA’S STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES HAVE MUCH TO OFFER THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Georgia’s State Parks and Historic Sites are getting into that holiday spirit with a host of activities through the New Year.

Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator, says that nearby offerings include the Lakeside Lights at James H. “Sloppy” Floyd Park every weekend in December as well as Candlelight Christmas at the Chief Vann House and a Tails on Trails Dog Hike at Fort Mountain this weekend.

Many parks will host First Day Hikes on New Years Day, adds Hatcher.  The hikes are guided by rangers.

Park gift shops have much to offer those in search of the perfect Christmas gift.  Hatcher says that shoppers may choose from soaps, books, toys, outdoor gear and even edible insects.
