The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center will host another Residential Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling event this Saturday. Items will be accepted from 9 am until 3 pm at the center, located at 405 Watters Street in Rome.
Michael Skeen, Director of Floyd County Public Works, says that the event will offer local residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of hazardous liquids such as paint, motor oil and pesticides.
Electronics such as computers (and all periphery), televisions, cameras and recorders will also be accepted.
Skeen attests that the goal of such events is to keep hazardous materials out of the local landfill.
You must make an appointment by today at 5 pm to dispose of your items on Saturday. Call the recycling center to schedule an appointment (and get more information) at (706) 291-5266.
