HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORTS BEGIN IN THE WAKE OF FLORENCE

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in News & Weather

Hurricane Florence has begun to lash coastal Carolina and is anticipated to continue her assault over the next few days.  As of early Friday, the hurricane was ranked as a Category 1 storm.  The Greater Rome area could see showers and thunderstorms later in the weekend and into Monday.

If you would like to assist with efforts to provide relief for those in the path of Hurricane Florence, be advised that the RomeGA Cares relief effort of the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency will begin accepting items this coming Monday at 1929 North Broad Street in Rome.  Visit www.floydsheriff.com for a list of the specific items to be accepted.  Monetary donations are also welcome.
