LIVE THEATRE IN DOWNTOWN ROME ON THIS POST-VALENTINES DAY WEEKEND

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in News & Weather

For locals in search of entertainment over this weekend after Valentines Day, there will be opportunities to enjoy live theatre in downtown Rome.

This will mark the final weekend of the Rome Little Theatre’s production of “Almost, Maine”.  The show will again take the stage at the historic DeSoto Theatre tonight and Saturday night at 8 pm and Sunday at 2:30 pm.  Sell-out crowds were on hand for opening weekend.

“Almost, Maine” is a community theatre favorite, attests Hannah Cook, RLT Executive Director, who adds that not all productions are big and flashy, but all leave viewers with something to take home.

Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for students and seniors, and $12 for children or groups; ticket prices do not include tax or processing fees.  Purchase your tickets online at www.romelittletheatre.org or by calling RLT’s Box Office at (706) 295-7171.

Darlington School’s fine arts department will present “Fiddler on the Roof” at the Rome City Auditorium this weekend. Doors will open at 7 pm tonight and Saturday night with showtime at 7:30 pm both nights. Sunday’s matinee is set for 2:30 pm with doors to open at 2 pm.  Get tickets and more information at www.darlingtonschool.org.  General admission costs $10. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.
