Floyd County Commissioner John Mayes was recently appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the Georgia Board of Corrections for a five year term. According to a release from the Floyd County Board of Commissioners, Mayes has been named Chairman of the Board, which develops rules governing conduct and welfare of its 14,000 employees, as well as treatment, discipline, housing, training, etc. of its 60,000 inmates.
Mayes is the owner of Pro Systems Clean Care. He has served as a Floyd County Commissioner for 14 years. He serves on the Georgia Advisory Committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights, as well as the Hospital Authority of Floyd County, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Rome.
John is married to Dr. Terri Mayes. The couple resides in Rome with their twin daughters, Tiffany and Taylor.
