NAMI ROME OFFERS SUPPORT GROUPS, CLASSES TO THOSE CHALLENGED BY MENTAL ILLNESS

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in News & Weather

The Rome chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness would like to remind local residents that you are not alone if you or someone you love struggles with mental illness.  The organization offers a variety of support groups free of charge to communities within its service area.

Bonnie Moore, co-leader of NAMI Rome, says that, in addition to support groups, a number of classes have been planned for the coming weeks in Rome and Dalton.  All of these are peer-to-peer; in other words, they are led by people who have had experience with mental illness and can therefore relate to the concerns of those seeking their assistance.
