Dogs will have the chance to jump in the pool at the Northside Swim Center on Sunday, September 16th during the Puppy Plunge.

Kevin Cowling, Director of Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation, says that the event will take place from 1 pm until 5 pm.  There will be doggy demos, a DJ and more.  Humans will not be allowed in the water with their dogs.

Snickers the Tracking Dog will also make an appearance.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 Unit and the Rome-Floyd County Special Olympics.

Tickets for the Puppy Plunge cost $15; this includes t-shirts and doggy bags. Interested parties are asked to register by September 4th on the parks and rec website at www.rfpra.com.  All dogs must be current on vaccinations.

The Northside Swim Center, located at 501 Kingston Avenue, remains open to (human) swimmers every weekend thru Labor Day weekend.  Open swim will conclude after Labor Day.
