The Georgia Open International Tennis Federation Wheelchair championship is being held this week out at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College. Play opens today and will continue through this Sunday.
Kristi Kent, Director of Communications for the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau, says that the wheelchair tourney is one of many sporting events that provide an economic shot in the arm to this community.
The public is invited to watch the wheelchair tennis players in action, free of charge.
