The Rome City School Board has approved some new positions for the 2019-2020 school year, according to an RCS media release.
Stephen McClure, current assistant principal at North Heights Elementary, will take a job at Rome High School as an assistant principal and behavior specialist. John Fricks has additionally been tapped to serve as an assistant principal for Rome High; he has been with the school since 2013 as a math teacher. Lorraine Reeves, 20 year educator, will join the administration of Anna K. Davie Elementary School as an assistant principal. Sabrina Teems will continue to serve as gifted coordinator for the system and fill the role of instructional technology coordinator. Kelli Johnson will transition from the post of special education teacher at Rome Middle School to a new job in the central office as the district wide special education specialist. Lastly, Jennifer Edwards and Kimberli Shedd will fill positions of instruction specialists for the city schools.
RCS Superintendent Louis Byars states, “Rome City Schools are fortunate to have such wonderful internal talent. A goal of the system is to ‘grow our own’ and I feel like we are moving in the right direction as we make assignments for the next school year.”
