RECORD HIGH TEMPS ON THURSDAY TO BE FOLLOWED BY COOL DOWN THIS WEEKEND

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in Uncategorized

It may have felt like Spring on Thursday, but Winter has returned in time for the weekend.

Thursday’s high temperature of 82 degrees exceeded the previous record of 77 set in 1957, according to the National Weather Service.  Today’s highs will only reach the low 50s with lows expected to dip into the low 30s during the overnight hours.

And speaking of weather – today marks the conclusion of the observation of Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Georgia; today’s focus is Flood Safety.  The observation has been spearheaded by Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security, with participation by Floyd EMA.  Residents across the state may find severe weather preparedness tips by Ready Georgia online at www.ready.ga.gov
