Republicans emerged as the victors in the statewide run-off election that was held on Tuesday.
Brad Raffensperger won his bid to become Georgia’s next Secretary of State with 52 percent of the vote; John Barrow received 48 percent. Chuck Eaton was re-elected to the Public Service Commission; he garnered 52 percent of the vote in that race, while challenger Lindy Miller nabbed 48 percent.
Raffensperger and Eaton overwhelmingly received support of Floyd County voters. Slightly over 20 percent of local registered voters cast their ballots in Tuesday’s runoff.
