The Rome-Floyd Chamber’s Board of Directors has voted unanimously to support a new model for economic development, if it is officially adopted by the city and county.
Board members held a closed-door meeting on Wednesday morning to tackle the issue. In a release issued on Wednesday night, the Chamber asserted their intentions to “move forward and stand united with city and county officials in implementing a new economic development model”.
The Chamber has recommended that the Rome-Floyd County Development Authority be tasked with industry recruitment under the new model to ensure representation from Chamber members and GREIA (Greater Rome Existing Industries Association).
