ROME-FLOYD RECYCLING CENTER TO HOST E-WASTE COLLECTION EVENT ON SATURDAY

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in News & Weather

Here’s a reminder that the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center is slated to host a free E-waste collection event this Saturday. Electronic waste will be collected at the center, 405 Watters Street in Rome, from 9 am to 1 pm.

Mary Hardin Thornton, Director of Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful, says that this will be a great opportunity to get rid of things like computers, printers and televisions.  This will allow you to make space for electronic gifts that you may receive this Christmas.

Those who would like to dispose of their items at the E-waste collection event must schedule an appointment to do so by calling the recycling center at (706) 291-5266 by 5 pm today.

Thornton adds that the purpose of appointments is to aid the flow of traffic and reduce wait times for participants.

Michael Skeen, Director of Floyd County Public Works, urges callers to get confirmation of appointment, don’t just leave a message!
