The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center will host another Residential Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, September 15th.  The collection hours are 9 am to 3 pm at the center, currently located at 405 Watters Street.  Appointment must be made in advance to dispose of your items.  Call the center at (706) 291-5266 by this Friday at 5 pm.

Household hazardous waste (or HHW) is described by Floyd County Public Works as anything liquid ‘that you would not want to drink’.  Items typically collected include paint, oil, herbicides and pesticides, according to Director Michael Skeen.  A chemist will be at the center on Saturday to test, load and remove all material.

Electronics to be collected include computers (and all periphery), televisions, cameras, recorders and the like.

The collection schedule is limited to the first 360 registrants.
