ROME INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL TO OFFER A WEALTH OF ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS OVER THE WEEKEND

The 14th annual Rome International Film Festival will provide a wealth of entertainment options for locals (and visitors) over the weekend.  The festival got underway on Thursday night and continues through Sunday.

RIFF 2017 features films from all over the world, as well as a few that were made in our own backyard (so to speak).  Saturday night will be highlighted by a screening of ‘Gangsters and Zombies’, along with the world premiere of its sequel, at the DeSoto Theatre.  Showtime is 10:15 pm.  Both films were shot and produced right here in Rome, Georgia.

Sean Charles Smith, director of ‘Gangsters and Zombies’, who also stars in the films, indicates that the hilarity and action that was established in the first movie is taken to another level in the sequel.

Legendary actor Burt Reynolds is in town for this year’s Rome International Film Festival; his arrival at the Russell Regional Airport on Thursday was announced on the festival Facebook page.

Film enthusiasts can get more information about the festival and purchase passes online at www.riffga.com.
