ROME WOLVES AIM TO DEFEND STATE TITLE TODAY

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in Sports

Today’s the day that the Rome Wolves head to Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta to defend their state title!

Rome High School’s football team will face Warner Robins in the GHSA Class 5A state championship game this afternoon at 4:30 pm.

Both teams are as yet undefeated with matching 14-0 records.  The Wolves won last year’s state championship game over Buford and hopes to emerge with a second straight title today.

The Calhoun Yellow Jackets will take on Peach County in the Class 3A state championship game today at 1 pm, also at ‘The Benz’.

All GHSA state championship games will be televised on GPTV.

Here’s a special weather statement from the GHSA – if any championship games have to be postponed due to winter weather conditions, they will be made up on December 15 or 16 at the site of the highest-seeded participating team or the team winning a coin flip if both participants are equal seeds. Any postponements will posted online at www.ghsa.net.
